Not saying this is your problem but it was for mine and probably some others. Mostly apps/games closing on their own or "this app took too long to start" error, once cleaned my performance issues went away.
Took 2 cans of duster while using a vacuum to clean it out really good but I did experience performance issues around that time. After a year or so I noticed the inside of all the intakes for air (and where some of the electical components are located on the back side of the bottom for some reason) my xbox was caked with dust. Could be the Xbox itself, I know the Series X is a dust magnet. I've had no issues on it since launch and I'm playing on series X.
